Musical romantic 'Mohabbatein' according to reports, had Sridevi offered a role in the film but she rejected it and later the makers of the film opted to discard the character in the film. The character was reportedly said to be Amitabh's love-interest in the film but due to her rejection, the role was scrapped out. We're not sure if this is hoax or true. • The movie introduced six newcomers, Jimmy Shergill, Shamita Shetty, Uday Chopra, Jugal Hansraj, Kim Sharma, and Preeti Jhangiani. However, Jimmy and Jugal were seen on the silver screen before, the movie relaunched them. Also, fresh playbacks were assigned for all six of them.

• Priyanka Chopra too had to reject the movie offer due to her Miss World Pageant contract.
• Shamita Shetty and Kim Sharma’s role were earlier offered to Karishma Kapoor and Kajol, but they rejected it.
• Mithun Chakraborthy was signed to play a special appearance. He was signed to play Shefali Shetty army husband. Aditya decided to scrap the role due to the length of the film.
• Uday Chopra wanted Rinke Khanna opposite him in the film. But Aditya Chopra insisted a new comer be launched opposite him.
• Aditya Chopra had written a role opposite Amitabh Bachchan. When Sri Devi rejected the role, he approached Madhuri Dixit.

• Aishwarya Rai Bachchan playing Megha, was not shown with her face in the trailer prior to the movie release. She being lesser popular back then, many of the audience speculated her as Kajol or Madhuri Dixit who have worked with Shah Rukh Khan under Yash Raj Banner.
• Rani Mukherjee who had played the role of SRK’s dead wife in ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ didn’t want to portray the role of a spirit yet again and hence rejected the role played by Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
