Kaksha's sensational release on April 28th, 1980 in Karnataka with 10 prints.

Grossed 1 lakh INR in 6 days in single theatre history of Telugu states.

Kaksha 1st week revenues were INR 1,24,626.20 per 29 shows.

First week (State Record) collections of Yugandhar (30/11/1979) at Sandhya 70MM, Hyderabad, remained unbeaten in 1980. But the remake slowed down from the third week and Kaksha (28/03/1980) crossed its three weeks revenues in the same theatre comfortably (image below). However, Yugandhar continued its run in three theatres in the twin cities (Sandhya , Rajeshwar & Meera) in its second week after debuting in 5 (Sobhana and Sridevi being the other two). Kaksha, on the other hand, was screened only in 2 (Sandhya and Prashanth A/C) in its second week after releasing in 4 (Shaam and Ram being the other 2) theatres in the area.

Grossed 2 lakhs INR in 13 days.

Kaksha became the first movie in Telugu history to have collected INR 5,08,000 in 50 days at single theatres without hit talk and joined the league of Adavi Ramudu, Yamagola, Vetagadu, Sankarabharanam. It ran for 50 days (direct) at Vijay theatre in Kakinada, Padmasri theatre in Bhimavaram.

Ran housefull at Alankar theatre in Vijayawada for 100 days (shift) for 3 shows.

Contrary to the claim of Sobhan Babu fans , Kaksha was a loss making venture for Suresh Productions. Per the below article by film journalist Vinayaka Rao (which appears in his biography on D. Rama Naidu – “Movie Moghul”), Suresh Productions lost 8 lakhs through this film.
