The first film in the history of South Indian cinema to release in the largest number of theaters with the largest number of prints - 50+


This cartoon was published in Andhra Jyothi on July 9th 1982, the release date of Bobbili Puli.


Bobbili Puli replaced Police Report at Sandhya 35MM theatre in Hyderabad on it's 21 days run.

It seized the box-office by collecting more than 13+ Lakhs INR first day (All Time Record)


Bobbili Puli featured NTR as a vigilante, was one of the most talked about films of early 80s. The film got extra publicity and hype especially after it ruffled the feathers of the censor board. Vijaya Madhavi Pictures, the makers of the film, got the release strategy right.


1,12,043 INR at Vimal 70MM theatre alone in Balanagar, Hyderabad.


It also set a new record for South Indian films by grossing total of 71+ Lakhs INR on it's first week (All Time Record).


Mayadhari Alludu first week revenues (52,037 INR) were crossed by Bobbili Puli (57,076 INR at Gurunatha theatre) after 7 months (July 1982).


Bobbili Puli run was not extended in any theatres in its second week. The highest grosser of the year was released in 10 theatres – Sudershan 35MM, Apsara, Alankar, Tirumala, Vimal, Sridevi, Meera, SriRamana, Satyam & Radhika.


First week collections: Tollywood's first movie in history to pull 5,35,936.80 lakhs INR in the first week at Sudarshan 35MM for 43 days for 138 shows.

Bobbili Puli has collected 3.5 crore INR in its full run and emerged as Industry hit.


The film lost its steam mid-way but nevertheless completed its 100 day run in 39 centres including Nourang theatre in Kurnool city.


Ran at Kamal Theater in Vizag for 105 days  replaced by Yamakinkarudu


Bobbili Puli ran for daily 3 shows for 175 days (silver jubilee) at Sudarshan 35MM and was replaced with Pandanti Kapuram


Rakshasa Samharam ran at Sangam theatre in Hyderabad 28 days replaced by Bobbili Puli (Re-release) in 1984.
